Graduate School of Systemic Neurosciences GSN-LMU

At the Graduate School of Systemic Neurosciences GSN-LMU, groups of researchers working in different areas of neuroscience seek answers to one of the most fundamental questions in modern science: How does the brain work? The GSN-LMU is embedded into the Munich Center for Neurosciences – Brain & Mind, one of the broadest academic environments that Munich has to offer in the field of neurosciences. Thus the program provides a combination of the most varied methodological approaches in biology, computational neuroscience, neurophysiology, neuropsychology, philosophy of science and neurophilosophy, opening up greater capacity for new questions, innovative approaches and concepts. Internationally recruited graduates at the GSN-LMU benefit from the individual and interdisciplinary mentoring by leading researchers from different fields of neuroscience and profit from Munich’s exceptionally diverse academic environment. All this allows them to develop even beyond their specific professional qualifications.
