Internationally Outstanding Research
To strengthen its position as Germany’s leading research-intensive university and establish itself securely among the most renowned universities worldwide, LMU Munich has created an internationally competitive infrastructure for research as part of its Institutional Strategy LMUexcellent. In the process, the University has enhanced its international visibility and intensified its collaborations with international academic and commercial partner institutions.
In addition to creating dedicated instruments for the promotion of internationally competitive research, LMU Munich supports the establishment and maintenance of international key cooperations with globally visible top universities. Additionally, the Center for Advanced Studies (CAS) was established as a forum for fostering academic exchange across geographical and disciplinary boundaries, and the Center for Leadership and People Management was set up to actively assist academics in meeting the specific leadership challenges associated with collaborative research.
