Junior Academics
LMU Munich places particular emphasis on promoting junior academics. Its “Academic Career Program” creates favorable conditions for research and further education for excellent junior academics at all stages of their academic careers – from doctoral studies to professorship.
The program is complemented by specific funding instruments provided by the Center for Advanced Studies and by the Young Center. The Graduate Center serves as the central contact point for all doctoral students at LMU. In addition, the LMUMentoring program is directed specifically toward junior female academics. It is designed to seal the “leaky pipeline” and thus to increase the proportion of women in academic positions.
