LMU - ChAN Partnering Universities

Within the LMU-ChAN network LMU intensified its existing collaboration with important partnering universities by establishing two types of cooperation:

Anchor Partnerships

This type of "comprehensive strategic partnerships" consists of collaboration at an institutional level, exchange programs, and/or common teaching activities as well as collaboration within research projects. In October 2014, the following Chinese universities signed agreements with LMU, dedicating themselves as "LMU Anchor Partners" within the network:

  • Peking University (Beijing)
  • Fudan University (Shanghai)
  • Zhejiang University (Hangzhou)
  • Shanghai Jiaotong University (Shanghai) - New as Anchor Partner since July 2016

Additional Universities in the Network

The purpose of the second collaboration model is specific scientific collaboration and/or a focus on specific research activities. Those collaborations - until now – have included the following universities:

  • Tongji University (Shanghai)
  • Renmin University (Bejing)
  • The Chinese University of Hong Kong (Hong Kong) - New in the Network since August 2016
  • University of Hong Kong (Hong Kong) - New in the Network since August 2016

Given LMU’s wide range of scientific research contacts in China, additional partnering universities with a great deal of potential to advance research in distinguished scientific areas, including the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), will be gradually added to become part of the network.
