European Research Council Grants

The European Research Council (ERC) promotes pioneering basic research by supporting excellent and unusually creative researchers. LMU researchers have been very successful in the highly competitive Europe-wide selection process.

ERC Advanced Investigators Grants

ERC Advanced Investigators Grants (up to € 2.5, in some circumstances up to € 3.5 million for up to 5 years) allow exceptional established researchers in any field to pursue frontier research of their choice.

The following researchers have received ERC Advanced Grants at LMU to date:

ERC Consolidator Grants

ERC Starting Independent Researcher Grants

ERC Starting Independent Researcher Grants (up to  € 1.5, in some circumstances up to € 2 million for up to 5 years) aim to support up-and-coming researchers from all over the world who are about to establish or consolidate a proper research team and to start conducting independent research in Europe.

The following researchers have been awarded with the ERC Starting Grant at LMU to date:

ERC Proof of Concept Grants

ERC Proof of Concept Grants are designed to support researchers who have already received an ERC grant and now wish to apply the results of their projects in a commercial or societal context. PoC grants are awarded for up to 18 months and are worth up to 150,000 euros.

The following LMU researchers have so far received ERC Proof of Concept Grants:

Participation in an ERC project

 

* LMU was designated as Host Institution in the grant proposal/approval. The ERC grantee has since left the University.

** ERC grantee who had already received the award before joining the staff at LMU.
