Research Collaborations

Acquisition of competitive project grants offered by external funding agencies, and participation in large-scale collaborative projects are important indicators of a university’s strengths in research. Both of these instruments facilitate innovative high-caliber research and support interdisciplinary and cross-border academic cooperation.

LMU attracts a wide range of research funding at regional, national, and European levels. Key sources are the German Research Foundation (DFG) and the European Union. The University consistently tops the list of German universities. Research programs and projects in all subject areas have received such support.
