Gene Center

The Gene Center of LMU Munich is an interdisciplinary research institution that brings together different branches of basic research. Molecular and biochemical techniques are used to address medically relevant questions and to gain insight into cell functions in normal and pathological states. Key topics of research include gene regulation, protein structure, cell biology, virology and mammalian genetics. To study these topics, various genetic model systems, such as yeast, Drosophila and mice are used, as well as proteomic and genomic approaches.
