Laboratory for Extreme Photonics (LEX Photonics)
The newly opened Laboratory for Extreme Photonics (LEX Photonics) on LMU’s Garching Campus is now in operation. In the two large experimental areas in the building, physicists are working on the next generation of high-intensity lasers. These high-end laser systems will be capable of producing ultrashort and extremely energetic bursts of light, which can be used for particle acceleration and in attosecond research to capture details of the fastest processes in the microcosm.
