Briefings on EU Funding Programs for Research in Bioscience

Munich, 06/17/2010

The European Commission will publish calls for new research proposals in the fields of Health, Agriculture, Fisheries and Biotechnology at the end of July 2010. Researchers who are interested in participating in these programs are invited to attend briefing sessions designed to advise on the format and content of proposals, which will be held on June 29th and 30th in Lecture Hall C, Klinikum rechts der Isar, Ismaninger Straße 22. All interested parties are requested to submit an outline (2 pages) of their project to the address below by June 20th. The briefings are organized by LMU, TU Munich, the National Contact Point for Biosciences (NKS L), the Helmholtz Center Munich, the EU Office of the Regional Cluster Bayern and the Max Planck Society.

Dr. Stephan Micha (Head of the NKS L) and his colleagues Dr. Petra Oberhagemann and Jan Skriwanek will provide information regarding the scope of the research areas to be targeted – Health, Agriculture, Fisheries and Biotechnology – and related programs, and explain the procedure to be followed for the submission of proposals. Professor Berthold Koletzko of the Munich Center for Health Sciences at LMU will discuss his own experiences of EU funding programs, both as an applicant and a Project Coordinator. Those who attend the briefings will have the opportunity to make arrangements for personal consultations with the experts from the NKS L for detailed discussion of their individual needs.
