Evolution and close relationships

The sight and smells of romantic attraction

Munich, 07/19/2011

What role does visual attention play in romantic attraction? How do men respond to the shifts in women’s hormone levels that occur during the menstrual cycle? These questions, currently much debated in evolutionary biology and psychology, will be elucidated by Jon K. Maner, Associate Professor of Psychology at Florida State University, at the Center for Advanced Studies (CAS) of LMU Munich. In his lecture, the eminent researcher, who is currently based at CAS as a Visiting Fellow, examines the role played by basic perceptual and biological processes in close social relationships.

The lecture will take place on 27 July 2011 at 7:15 pm in the Auditorium of the Center for Advanced Studies, Seestraße 13.
