Supplementary study course
Environmental studies in four terms
The Rachel Carson Center for Society and Environment (RCC) at LMU is adding a new course to its roster of study programs. The Environmental Studies Certificate Program is intended to give LMU students of all disciplines, who are enrolled in Master’s and professional programs, an opportunity to earn a supplementary qualification. The four-semester (33 ECTS credits), interdisciplinary course concentrates on three focal areas: The Environment in History and Society, Environmental Law and Ethics, and Human Ecology and Natural Science. According to Christof Mauch, Director of the RCC, this supplementary course will “enable students to recognize and transcend the limits of their own specific subject area, and opens up novel career perspectives both in and beyond the academic sphere.”
The deadline for receipt of applications for the Winter Semester 2013/14 is 1. October.
