Pulitzer Prize winner Colson Whitehead at LMU
American author Colson Whitehead is the latest eminent author to be featured in the series LMU im Dialog, which is organized in cooperation with the Stiftung Literaturhaus. On November 28st, he will read from his best-selling novel “The Underground Railroad”, which has won both the Pulitzer Prize and the US National Book Award for Fiction. The book is set in the US in the early 19th century, and tells the story of Cora and her flight from slavery on a cotton plantation in Georgia to freedom in the North. Blending realism with allegory, it is a compelling depiction of the human and historical impact of racism and slavery in the US.
