European Funding Opportunities for Junior Reseachers

The European Research Council (ERC) and the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions offer very attractive funding opportunities for Postdocs of all disciplines. While the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Individual Fellowship is a mobility programme allowing to pursue a 2-3 year project abroad, the ERC provides funding to start or consolidate and independent research group. This workshop will provide detailed information about both funding schemes, the proposal requirements and some practical advice on how to write a proposal.

The following questions will be answered during the workshop:

  1. What kind of funding opportunities and career perspectives does the EU offer for junior researchers in Europe?
  2. Which preconditions do you need to fulfil in order to apply?
  3. Who can support you in the application process?

Dr. Claudia Breit has a scientific background and studied biochemistry at the University Bayreuth, Ecole Normale Superieure de Lyon and Imperial College London. After her doctoral thesis at the Max Planck Institute for Molecular Physiology in Dortmund she briefly continued in active science before joining the KoWi Team in Bonn in 2017. Claudia Breit is part of the National Contact Point of the ERC and her major areas of expertise are advising and informing scientists about the EU funding possibilities of the European Research Council (ERC) and the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA).
