1. Preparatory German Language Courses

Intensive language courses (with possibility for DSH and / or TestDaF):

Scientific German

In the scientific German courses you will practice study-related language skills. You will practice core linguistic elements of scientific communication (for example, summarizing, paraphrasing, citing, arguing), and the main text and discourse types.

Evening courses (German for as a scientific language):

Language courses for doctoral and postdoctoral students

In the language courses which are part of the doc.internationalLMU program, international doctoral and postdoctoral students from all disciplines who are either studying or are visiting researchers at the LMU may participate. General language courses and scientific German courses are offered.

3. Language preparation online

The online program "German-Uni Online", developed at the LMU, consists of the modules: basic German (from A1), Preparation for Study (B1), Study Organization (B1), Study Practice (B2) Exam Preparation TestDaF (B2), and Specialist German (from C1). It can be arranged flexibly with tutorial support or as a pure self-study, as well as a combination of classroom and online instruction.
