Ingredients (serves 10)

  • 1 kg potatoes

  • 600g minced meat mixture

  • 1 onion

  • 1 clove garlic

  • 200g canned tomatoes passion

  • 1/2. L. Savory

  • 1/2. L. Paprika

  • 50ml oil

  • salt and pepper



  • 300 grams of yogurt
  • 2 eggs

  • 1. L. Flour

  • a pinch of baking soda

  • chopped parsley

  • salt and pepper to taste


  1. Chop the onion finely and the carrots and fry in 3-4 tablespoons oil.

  2. Add the minced meat and cook until done.

  3. Add the spices and the tomatoes and cook for 5-6 minutes.

  4. Peel the potatoes, wash and cut into flat circles.

  5. Put one layer of potatoes then put half of the minced meat on top. Put another layer of potatoes and the rest of the meet afterwards. Then put a final layer of potatoes on top.

  6. Add water to cover the products.

  7. Bake in a preheated oven at 200 degrees C for 30 minutes or until potatoes are done.

For the topping:

  1. Mix eggs with flour, add yogurt, a pinch of baking soda and chopped parsley.

  2. Put on top of the moussaka when it is cooked and return it to the oven for another 10-15 minutes until the dough gets golden brown.
