Building up a broad network of contacts both within and beyond the limits of one’s own specialty and developing a strong research profile are among the most important elements of a successful academic career. The Young Center of the Center for Advanced Studies (CAS) promotes both of these goals by encouraging interdisciplinary collaborations between outstanding junior academics, and providing a forum for exchange with experienced top academics.
The CAS Young Center assembles holders of renowned research prizes such as ERC Starting Grants, Heisenberg Fellowships or LMU Research Fellowships. Members can call upon a wide range of services, including the infrastructure necessary for the organization of meetings and other events, participation in workshops and advise on academic career development. Furthermore, as members of CAS, junior academics are an integral part of its broad range of events. This puts them in a position to engage in interdisciplinary dialog with leading academics, which can greatly stimulate their research and career development.
